So far so good, but I’ve only had it a couple of days. It is an attractive time piece, but it’s a lot smaller than what I expected. It appears to be solidly built and I appreciate that it is mechanical and not battery powered. Nothing else to say at this point except that I would recommend it as a trial piece if you are considering getting a pocket watch. The only other option that I was considering was easily 2-3 times the price of this, but that’s what you would expect for a “name” brand.

This watch keeps good time, but one must wind it morning and night in order to do that. It has a good feeling in the hand and has an attractive case.
I specifically ordered it with the mechanism of the clock showing in the center with the numbers on the outside. But I think that was a mistake! It is very difficult to read the time quickly without the full face clock background. The mechanical works in the center are distracting and require more visual acuity to see the time. However, that may not be the fault of the watch face design, but rather the fault of the time reader. At age 75 and with cgasses my visual acuity is certainly not that of my youth.

I’ve had this pocket watch for about 2 weeks now and so far it has kept perfect time everyday. As long as you remember to wind it, as this is a “mechanical” watch.
The watch itself is beautiful. Chrome plated with open windows on the front and back. You can see its movement, gears and main spring. Winding the watch is easy, simply turn the knob that sits on top of the watch, where the chain loop is. Same for timing setting, pull the knob up and set the time, push it back down and you’re done.
The main cover has a “crest” style engraving that has an empty space for custom work, such as initials, etc. The back side is also engraved, but with no open spaces. To open the watch, press the small button that sits on top of the winding knob; both the front and back covers open by doing this, so if you don’t want the back to open when you’re checking the time, simply place your hand on the back of the watch and this prevents it from opening on the back side.
The face has roman numerals on a white background, very easy to see. The minute, hour and second arms are black and can be hard to see for those whom may have vision problems, but after some time, you will get used to it. As for the “tick”, not incredibly loud, but it can be heard in quiet settings, but during normal hours, unless you put the watch right next to you ear, you can’t really hear it.
The chain measures just over 14″ long, that’s including the main clasp/hook and the hook that goes to the watch. The chain itself is chrome plated and very well made.
The watch’s diameter is just under 2″ OD and 1.5″ ID (ID for the actual face)
All in all, a great watch, BUT, I gave it 4 stars for two reasons:
First and foremost, the hook at the end of the chain that grabs the watch; it is weak or not well designed, I can’t really tell, but what happens is, the hook is not tight enough, so the watch will come loose and off the chain from time to time. At one point, I was reaching for the watch, by pulling on the chain, the hook let go of the watch and flying it went, taking a hard hit on the floor. I was pissed and shocked. Luckily, the watch was not damaged and incredibly, not scratched either. I’m gonna have to find a better chain and you should do the same if you plan to use the watch with it.
The second reason, but not so important to me, but also good for you to know; the watch’s main face is PLASTIC, not glass, this isn’t a huge deal for me, because after all, the watch does have a metal cover, but it is something worth mentioning. Oddly, the back face, is glass.
Anyway, that’s it. I love this watch, it has kept the right time so far and that’s all I can ask for…well, except for the chain’s hook (the actual chain and main clasp are great). If you plan to wear the watch with a chain, either buy a better one or be warned about the hook. You can also buy this:

I received this item extremely fast and was very pleased with it. It exceeded my expectations! I had it engraved at a local jewelry store for my husband as a Valentines day gift with “As time changes, our love remains” and also had our last name initial engraved in the front. He loved it! The jeweler that did the engraving had to ask what is the value of the item in case something happens to it while in his possession, but was amazed when I told him how much I purchased it for. He said he would have valued it at way more. It keeps great time and is a beautiful watch.

Beautiful watch for the money. Understanding that anything under the $400 price range is going to have a Chinese movement, this watch is at the high end of that quality range. The case is beautiful and functional. The watch keeps good time. The wind is smooth and open just the front, or the front and back works well. I am very happy with the quality.
