I rent a townhome. The insulation sucks, the HVAC is unbalanced, the upstairs gets hot and I have limited options to fix any of it.
The good:
* The fans offer more airspeed than just removing the cover. Hopefully that means more airflow.
* Decent control options: on, thermal toggles, and cycle timmers
* The cord can reach from floor to ceiling.
The bad:
* Noisy: these are cheap 92mm fans. You need to drop speed to 3/10 to make them inaudible and 8+/10 sounds like a jet reving up!
* Disappointing design: a lot of cross sectional area is taken up by the control unit and grill. I will grant that you can’t really get more axial fan area in a 4×10″ vent, but it would be nice to move more air. I am unsure if the greater airspeed compensates for the reduced area.

Have three levels in my house with central air. The top floors have two bedrooms that never get properly cooled. Estimate to put two mini-split AC systems in to fix the problem came in at $8000. I did research on fan systems to boost existing central air systems and found this great product on Amazon and bought three white ones at $70 CAD each. I installed two one month ago and waited for the hot weather. It was 32 Celsius (90 F) today. The fans kicked in and have done a great job in keeping each room cool (though not cold). They were easy to sort out as far as install (really plug and play) but you need to understand that you set a temperature that matches colder air coming from your central air system which then starts the fan. You can choose what level of fan speed (and soft noise) that it will max out at. Nice thing is it gently comes to speed. No sudden noise. If you put your hand on it, you can feel it is drawing the cool air from the ventral air system. Only reason I gave 4 starts instead of 5 for install is because it does not easily fit the vent (make sure you know the size you need to fill matches) even when sizing matched. So, two are sort of partially in place but still it does the trick and mine are tucked under a bed or in a corner where no one sees them so all good for me. I am sure I could “trim” or bend the metal of the receptacles to allow the fan to fit better but really don’t need to do this in my situation. Can’t tell you how happy I am I did not spend on mini-splits! Love the system and the design. Good looking when it fits in place.

Bought this in the summer of 2023 to help with our A/C reaching the master bedroom….worked well. Started using it again in December 2023 to help with heat flow…..worked for 2 days, now will not turn off unless unplugged….when on, can’t change any setting. Very dissapointed with this product at any price. After communication with company they said since purchased off Amazon warranty is voided as they consider it third party seller. Company will not stand by their product.

This vent fan is much more effective than regular fans we’ve tried. There was no assembly required. It maintains cool air circulation even after the A/C shuts off. Size fits vent. We’ve been using for several weeks. Seems durable with low noise

This product itself is good, but it took so long to get delivered, that’s why I only gave it 3 stars. I was waiting and waiting in the super hot weather to get this installed thru out our heat wav to help cool off a bedroom. . Product itself is good quality, works well, fan is quiet and powerful. The instructions are really hard for a 70 year old to understand however.

In my previous review I only gave 1 star because the unit only worked for 3 months and it was outside of return/replace window on Amazon but I have decided to take a chance and reach out to the company. What an amazing customer service! They responded very quickly, apologized for the faulty unit and mailed me the replacement right the way! Did not see that coming.
That said the unit does help with circulating the air. This model is not as noisy as the bigger unit they sell. It does work better in smaller rooms. I couldn’t say if it worked in the living room because we have a pretty open floor plan but when I moved it into my office I could feel the improvement right the way. Certainly worth a try especially if you have an older house and AC flow is not distributed evenly across all levels.

I want to start this review off by saying AC Infinity has some reputable products that work great! Like the rest of the reviews on here, I was looking for a way to bring more cool air into my baby room during the hot summer months and on fan setting 5 this thing did the trick! I do have a few things that you might want to keep in mind!
Pros:
– Pretty much everything that’s said in every review. It’s easy to install, fits perfectly, and delivers a bunch of cold (or hot) air to the room that needs it the most. The fan can be very quiet and I don’t find the loudest setting that loud (we have an air purifier that is 10x louder than this vent).
– Customer service is helpful!
Cons:
– You can’t close this vent. There are instances where we had to close our vent because the room in the winter was too hot when the rest of the house is cold. Well, it’s not possible without purchasing a vent cover. Not a big deal but something to think of.
– Everyone states programming this device is easy, which it is, but I find it’s not intuitive. You need to program the device for what the temperature of the room “would be” after the A/C or Heat are on at the temperature of the air coming through the vent. For instance, when the A/C is on, the temperature on the vent reads 10C and so I have programmed it to run whenever it hits 10 degrees Celcius not when it’s above 23C for instance. I find this way of thinking so backwards. I mean, when you set the temperature in the house you set it to what you want it to turn on at not what you think it should turn on at depending on the heat from the furnace. In my opinion, they should have added the thermostat externally to the vent to make this more intuitive.
– There is a difference between the actual temperature and what is shown. In the picture, it states 24 when the room is actually 22… This adds to the confusion of programming.
All in all, I think if you can get over the weird programming of this device it does work like a charm. It forces tons of air into the desired room bringing the temperature up or down very quickly to your desired temp.. In the end, I’m satisfied with the purchase as it does work exactly as described!

I bought this because I work at home and the heat from the computers is a lot. I bought this and it pulls cold air constantly from the lower level and has made enough difference to keep the AC from running as much as the thermostat is outside my office. I feel this product is worth. It is simple enough to use and does work well. I imagine it will cut quite a bit on my AC bill.

So I have a lot to say about these it turns out.
I ordered two, to replace a pair of registers that heat two colder upstairs bedrooms of our pre-war home, and I know the duct takes a convoluted path, before popping up through the common wall. It always had poor air flow, even after we upgraded our furnace last year.
So these boosters are now installed 4 inches across from each other, same duct, but the thermostats never match, and they are 3 to 5 degrees C higher than the max reading on my Laser thermometer says they should be. Normally woulnt care, but because they don’t even match each other, tuning the setpoints is extra challenging because I want them to turn on together so they pull air from the duct, instead off the opposite room. One is saying it’s 26 right now, but laser scanning register and duct reads max of 21, and room itself is about 17.5.
The other thing I don’t like is how they glue foam to the cardboard packaging. Not sure why they do this but it is so annoying if you want to recycle your packaging (pretty standard these days, no?). One foam peeled out okay, but I literally to to scrape the foam out of the other cardboard package, where the glue seemed a bit heavier, and was pretty annoyed about it.
One small grievance is that you can’t turn off the display (which is reading an incorrect temperature). White electrical tape will certainly work, but it just seems like a pretty easy thing that could have been programmed as a fifth menu/function. I probably would have given it an extra star for that alone.
Also, why are the wire supports and tie-wraps black? Ordered a white unit. Wires are white. Baseboards are generally white. And I’m supposed to put this big black sticky wire support on there?
Okay. Now that all that is off my chest, I can say what I like about them.
These units seem very well constructed (except thermostat?). The design is really clean and I think they look way better than some of the other comparables. That is important if you have a character home (generally goes hand-in-hand with funky ventilation).
I find the noise levels totally appropriate for the airflow they provide, and medium levels are on par with blower noise from passive registers closer to the furnace. No complaints here whatsoever.
I really appreciated all the dimension information provided. It was super helpful for my design and making sure I could install these units in the way that I wanted.
And, despite all of my gripes, they function pretty well so far (except the thermostat). Bedrooms and whole upstairs is warmer by degree or two already using rough settings (laser thermometer is priceless in an old home). Will still need tweak setpoint and fan speeds to fine tune and get working better, but I’m confident I should be able to balance the temperature between our two floors now.

We installed two of these in two west facing rooms of the house that get very hot by the end of the day. They have made a very noticeable difference. Install was easy. Despite having measured it was tough to get one in, but banging on the duct work a bit to fit did the trick. The other went in quite smoothly with no interference. The fan on high is a bit louder than I would like, but no louder than a run of the mill tower fan. I probably will remove them in the winder months as heating these rooms are not a challenge and I am not a huge fan of that cord despite efforts to make it look tidy. Operation is easy once you understand it. The instructions are a bit confusing in that regard, but it’s not that complicated.

(Update 8.3.2024)
One complaint. Because the new Bluetooth display goes in 0.1 increments (e.g. 64.9, 65.0, 65.1), the fans tend to rev up and down several times before settling in and remaining on. This makes it kind of distracting and often wakes me up because it goes up and down before remaining on. Other than that still a tremendous value. Maybe the makers can release a firmware update that has the temperature going in straight number increments instead of 0.1 increments.
(Update 06/14/2024)
As of this date, they still can’t vouch highly enough for this type of product. Through the winter it kept my rooms warmer where needed, and during the warm months kept my rooms on the second floor much cooler than without it. I recently purchased another one a couple of days ago because it had a 25% discount. I actually ended up getting a different model that actually incorporates Bluetooth and an app. That just made the value of this product jump up quite a bit. It’s model AC-RBF4-W. I’m wondering if it’s brand new in the model lineup because I can’t find documentation on it anywhere, but so far it’s been actually really nice having Bluetooth connectivity so that I don’t have to go down to floor level to adjust any settings if I wanted to. Plus it’s nice to see what the temperature in the room is without having to get out of bed. Super lazy person here lol. Anyway, if you’re on the fence, I can honestly say they’ve been worth it. Still happy with them and ended up buying four more after my initial purchase.
(Original review)
What I like:
1. Works very well
2. Easy to configure
3. The digital display
4. Easy to understand directions
5. Can turn off the display once you’ve set it up
6. Relatively quiet at lower speeds
What I don’t like:
1. It’s a little pricier than other brands, but so far it’s been worth it.
First and foremost, for those who say the temperature settings either don’t work or are backwards, it’s just not true. Yes, you very well could have gotten a defective unit, but the vast majority of complaints are unfounded and rooted in ignorance of the function of the product.
It is NOT a thermostat! It has a thermal probe that registers the temperature of the air coming from the vent. Therefore, if you want the product to push cold air during the summer, you want the fans to kick on when the temperature of the air coming from the vent is at or lower than the temperature preference you set. For example, my room routinely got as high as 78°F during the summer, so I set my cooling trigger to 72°, so any air that is that temp or below will be pushed into my room. My room now regularly stays around 72 degrees.
Now the opposite will be true during the winter. My room can get very cold. As low as 55°. That’s freezing in the winter time. So I set the heating trigger to, say, 75°. That means any air coming from the vent that is that temp or higher, will turn the fans on to push the warm air into my room, thereby making it warmer quicker.
Hope they helps those who have trouble understanding what the unit does. Just remember, it’s NOT a thermostat.

Our guest room has been the stuffiest room for years. It is always super cold or super hot depending on the season and you can just barely feel any air coming out of the register. When we replaced our HVAC system I asked the installer why we have this issue and it’s because the vents go all the way across the house before bending back towards that bedroom. Needless to say we were super excited when we discovered this register fan to see if it works and so far so good! After reading many of the reviews and then the manual we were easily able to figure out how to work the high and low fan reading and adjust the fan speed. It works perfectly so far! The room doesn’t have that stuffy feeling anymore and it stays cool just like the rest of the house. Time will tell with the winter, but for now it is doing the job! We have the fan set at the highest speed, 10, for now and you can hear it, but in my opinion it’s not disruptive.
