Tested it against my vintage ARP String Ensemble, and it’s basically the same thing. My String Ensemble got upset and coincidentally one of the delay taps that produces the lush ensemble effect failed. Not bad for a 50yo instrument that weighs a ton to have one failure. Getting it fixed and selling it though. The Behringer fits the bill.

Had been waiting a long time for this device and when it showed up on sale I purchased it right away even though there was a wait. Ended up shipping quicker than expected. Was an absolute steal at this price. Sound quality is amazing. Very durable and similar foot print to other products in this class by Behringer. If you are waiting to get one now is the time!

I literally VHB taped my Solina to the top of my Pro-800 when I felt how light it was. Any heavier and that would be risky. They should probably do a package deal or potentially a full blown combo considering how well they work together. I made a little patch bay next to it so I can route things to it’s effects. They are SO GOOD. HOW is this is best sounding phaser I have now? I could argue the phaser and modulation inputs alone make this thing worth it. For me, it’s value is its original intended purpose. Throwing environmental chords into a mix like Pink Floyd or Faith No More. I had been using the Pro-800 for this. Now it’s free to be itself. If only to free up your Pro-800 so it can do something more meaningful, it’s worth it.

Wow! The wait was so absolutely worth it. Purchased the Behringer Solina earlier this year when it was on sale for a super ridiculously low price. Then the wait started – I was even asked if I wanted to cancel my order due to the unforeseeable delays.
Well, since I wasn’t in a particular rush, I decided to “wait”.
Received it last month and had a chance to take it through its paces extensively.
At the end of the day, every single time I play it I can’t stop smiling excessively. This Solina produces EXACTLY the sounds that I was hoping for – I’m a Floyd head and I’m happy to report that the Behringer Solina delivers the original sounds as found in the Wish You Were Here and Animals albums to the T.
Craftsmanship, tone quality and features are amazing! At the ridiculously low price (even today, while it’s not on the “intro sale” anymore) it is a total no-brainer.
Alternatively, you could get yourself a laptop and an Arturia Solina V plugin. But at that time, you spent multiple times of what the Behringer Solina sets you back. And it’s super easy to dial in the sounds you want absolutely on the fly. Analog tone heaven at its best!!!
On top of that, as a side note, I am using the Solina in tandem with a Behringer Poly D…
No further comments require I suppose.

This is great for the 70s spacey strings sounds used by Styx, Kansas, Gary Wright and Pink Floyd. The bad, is really it isn’t really much more than that. But, it’s a pretty affordable solution and does its job well.

These have been back ordered for months, but every day beheringer announces another 10 synths that they are ripping off. I don’t know. Seems weird.

I am very impressed with the Behringer Solina String Ensemble. It is a simple yet effective synthesizer with a really unique sound. The modulation really brings the sound to life, and the phaser is also very nice. I also really appreciate the mod in/out, phaser in/out, and VCA CV in to use with Eurorack and other gear. I do think, however, there are some very good virtual instruments out there, especially UVI String Machines; so if you want to save money, those instruments can get you what you need. But if you want a hands-on, real analog experience, then this Behringer String Ensemble is the way to go. It really does sound fantastic!

I am a fan of vintage string machines and have a few of my own. They take up a lot of room and can be a challenge to maintain. I got the B-Solina in order to have a compact option to get “the sound” a vintage divide-down stringer produces. The videos sounded good, so I thought I’d give it a go. I was not let down, the B-Sol actually gets close to the sound of OG stringers. Build quality is pretty solid with the exception of the controls, which are cheap plastic. I suppose that’s a reasonable trade-off as the money was clearly spend where it counts – on the sound. The built-in small stone clone phaser is an excellent addition, and instantly transports you to John Michelle Jarre, Pink Floyd, or Air – your pick. A fun little machine that basically does one thing really well.

It never fails to bring a smile to my face, bringing out my inner Jean-Michel Jarre. It sounds so good just holding down random notes. I plug it into an Arturia keystep 37 via midi. If you want that classic string sound I highly recommend it.
