In response to the comment about the loose 2 hr and 4 hr crowns, they move easily but during my wearing of the watch, they did not move randomly and the outer rings did not move. For my wrists its the perfect size and weight. Enjoy!

Fascinating history behind this watch.
Bulova’s answer to a call during WWII.
Love the vintage innovative design.
12 hour time elapse without the moving parts of a chronograph.
Swapped out the strap for a steel bracelet.
Beautiful style and function with automatic class and a prestigious fit and finish.

The watch arrived on time in its Bulova box. I was concerned with the double labeling on the box. Both labels had the correct model number but had no numbers even relating to the serial number on the watch. Very concerning at the very least. Opening the box I inspected the watch. On the watch band, I have seen better. I expected this after reading the past reviews and you tube. I have a plan B for this. I love the look and size of the watch. Also the time laps dials work great. The next is how well does the watch keep time. After wearing the watch for two days I recorded the watch was running approx. 5 seconds fast per 24 hrs. I can live with that!!! So far, the watch is a keeper despite the suspicious labeling. How well it will perform long term? Time will tell.

Firstly, very practical watch. You can time a second time zone and time a 60 min count up.
Secondly, for history buffs, very fun watch.
I work in film and television, I use the 12hr bezel to keep track of elapsed hours at work, and the count up bezel to keep track of lunch, weather delays, time spent shooting a scene and so on. (Often we work 12hrs or more and break for lunch 6 hours into our day.)
The water resistance isn’t the best, but on days that I’m not out in a downpour, it’s perfect.
I’ve bumped and banged the sapphire crystal into sharp metal objects and I am still scratch free.
I highly recommend changing the watch band, a leather nato and green nato look best in my opinion.
I have a 6.5” wrist, and I feel very comfortable wearing this watch. And keep in mind, it’s on my wrist for at least 12hrs.
Lastly, it keeps time pretty well, no real complaints. Reserve is accurate and the ability to wind up is a huge bonus.
Great and robust buy for $370.

I have bought this based on numerous reviews on the web and on YouTube. What i was looking for was a watch that had a 1940s pilot watch look and feel. I think Bulova hit the mark with their reinterpretation of their classic A15. This was based on an experimental design that was based on the A11, but with the added function of 2 outer rotating internal bezels. This new version is a very close copy of that original design, just a bit scaled up for modern times. It does not feel overly large on my wrist, as i have an 8″ wrist, and it looks well proportioned. The leather strap is surprising very soft and comfortable and looks like it belongs on a vintage pilot watch. I will certainly keep it on the watch. I tend to replace factory straps to something more of my liking, but his works perfectly. The biggest selling point for me is the two rotating bezels. No other watch i know know of has this and makes it a unique watch that has found a home in my collection. Since i bought it i have found myself wearing this daily over the others in my collection. The hands look period correct and have a nice vintage appearance. The dial is well printed and like the fact that the numbers are printed in white and not a faux patina. This appears just as a pilot would have received back in 1945 right out the box. The winding is smooth, the crown engages with a nice firm click and feels like a quality timepiece. I especially like the smooth caseback and the double dome sapphire crystal. This is sure to be favorite of mine for years to come!

This is an excellent watch! The finish is perfect all around. I love the polished bezel on the brushed case. Whomever regulated my particular movement deserves a raise. My watch has gained .5 sec….a week! May be a fluke, but I have never seen a mechanical movement this accurate. I’m sure that will change this age.
There are several points to note. Firstly, the leather strap is very fine and looks good. But it is a little loose on smaller wrists, such as my 6″ wrist. I’m using a Spring Made modern Bond single pass strap that looks great on this watch. Secondly, the lume is not great. At all. This isn’t a problem for me since I switch out for a Deep Blue Commander diver with flat tritium at night. Lastly, the 2 bezel crowns are fairly easy to rotate. However, if you tend to wear above the bone, like I do, the bezels won’t randomly rotate.
I’m very pleased that I purchased this watch. It is a great addition to my growing collection.
EDIT: Almost a month in and this watch is still at about +1 second a week, checked daily with an atomic clock app. The timegrapher shows a beat error of .2ms. There’s a lot of deviation in different orientations on the timegrapher, but on wrist I am simply amazed at the accuracy of this 82A6 movement. Still 200% satisfaction with this purchase.
