I have been on a little bit of a cushion shaped diver kick lately, and this watch has always been on the list of options and I finally decided to pull the trigger and purchase it.
I’ve had this watch for over 10 days and it has yet to leave my wrist. At some point it will go into my standard rotation but here are my thoughts at this point.
Pros:
-I love the color of the watch. It is listed as green but it is more of emerald color and it seems to change colors in different lighting. The color really stands out and pops.
-The Bezel is 120 click, not 60 click as some websites have listed. It also has a very smooth rotating action.
-The watch has been pretty accurate I’ve gained about +9 seconds a day over 10 days.
-Despite being 44mm wide the watch wears smaller because of a shorter 46mm length.
-I love the hands of this watch. They are thick and bold looking and the lollipop second hand is a nice addition.
-The lume is awesome.
-The internal cyclops is interesting and it looks cool because it doesn’t stand out above the surface but it doesn’t provide much magnification.
-The writing on the dial is different than anything that I currently have and it looks really crisp.
-The hour markers are totally different from anything I currently own and really stand out.
Cons: kind of
-I did not like the metal band it felt a little cheap despite having solid end links. I swapped it out for a black rubber strap which really made the black on the bezel pop. I almost always swap out standard bands, but this is the first watch that I plan on always wearing on a rubber strap. It just looks “right” on a rubber strap. So this is probably a pro for the watch just not for the band.
-I am still not sure how I feel about the totally polished surface.
-I wish it had hacking but its fine.
Overall, I really love this watch. It makes for a good daily wear, or would make for a decent beater option if you don’t mind spending $450+ on a beater watch. Its different looking from my Seiko Turtle but has a purely vintage look with the hour markers and different style hands that really make it pop. The dial color is thing that really has me loving it, I love the emerald green.
My wife said, “Yeah its fine, the green looks different than your other watches, like whatever though, its fine.” My wife doesn’t really care about my watches.
This watch is really great.

Have had this piece for a few months and have been impressed with 3 aspects of the watch. However, first my thank you to the seller which I highly Recommend! The watch arrived extensively well packed, brand new with stickers, tags, perfect box and a thank you letter for purchase! Very much appreciated the details taken care of before shipping. The watch has a striking Teal Green dial and the acrylic markers has a unique depth due to being held in by 4 prongs this is for all 12 markers on the dial, (48). Of the 3 significant observations the first is this watch for the basic mioyta 821D movement this watch keeps fantastic time. Error rate of 4-6 seconds over a period of three weeks of measurement. Measurements taken twice a day for 21 days. Second, this watch is extremely comfortable to wear daily, the cushion case does. It profile the watch as a behemoth on your wrist. It stands up to knocks very well, 2 door hits no scratches or dings. The double curved sapphire crystal is tough. Third, the lume is very good. Areas of improvement they could be considered, a Milled clasp, however, staying true to the original 1970 Bulova Oceanographer is understandable. Bezel lines up perfect. Solid end links would be better.
Overall, a worthy reissue. This model also come in original Black/Red and a stunning Blue/Orange. Highly recommend this watch.

Photos don’t do it justice. It really is a great looking watch. Set it to NIST time and 48 hours later it’s gained about a second . That’s really impressive right out of the box and makes this the most accurate auto I own by far. Also I’m not sure if mine came with another movement or if they’ve update the 821D but mine hacks. The case back gives no indication as to what actually lives inside.
The bracelet is kind of difficult to size as each smallish ‘link’ has 5 articulating pieces that you need to line up when inserting the link pin but I eventually figured it out. If you aren’t familiar with sizing your own bracelets this may not be the one to learn on.

Very nice watch, you really don’t see watches this color, great conversation piece. I really dig the retro look, the lume on this watch is really bright aswell. One thing I don’t like is the clasp style, it feels pretty cheap for the price. Overall great watch though.

Bulova did it again, a stunning watch, one of a kind, striking color, the lume is incredible bright in the dark, very comfortable to wear, perfect mix of vintage, sport and modern accent look, solid, sharp, one of the best looking watches I had ever seen.

I will do a quick review on this watch. Overall it was great with nice features. As mentioned in another review this movement did hack in the watch I was sent. The bracelet is not screw pins they are regular pin and collar system for sizing. The high polished case seemed to scratch easily so sadly I had to return the watch for this.

I have larger 8 1/4″ wrists and love the feel of a sturdy heavy watch present when wearing. This is that watch!

I own about 15 watches. They range from $300-$22000. I purchased this watch for a daily beater for the lake and beach during the summer and vacation. I like the depth rating and that it’s automatic. I’ll start by saying that its a beautiful watch and the green dial is one of a kind. The bracelet is well made and feels great. This watch is always in the water and I also wear it doing all of my day to day activities. The movement is accurate and pretty decent. Very easy to read. This watch really made me rethink some of my more expensive purchase. Bulova hit a homerun with this watch. It has so many variants. I highly recommend this watch.

Dream watch. Truly grail worthy, honestly, and I own all kinds of grail worthy pieces. I would call this a green dial Doxa. The hour indicies are kind of weird, but in a funky cool sort of way. Very vintage look with the Omega style bracelet, which admittedly does tug at the arm hairs. Regardless, the profile of this watch is fantastic and due to the case shadow the short lugs make this large watch wear very medium. I’ve got 7 inch wrists and this fits perfectly. They’re tall though, just like a true diver, so don’t get it twisted. But what a watch! Ugh second best green dial I’ve ever owned, only because the Hulk is the greatest thing ever made and the best green color you can find.

Movement is excellent and the picture Does the color no justice this watch dial is amazing.

As soon as I saw Devil Diver and 666, I had to get this watch. The Green color really sets it apart from other time pieces. Hands and Date are easy to read. My only issue with this watch is the lack of instructions on how to use the screw down crown. The Bulova website wasn’t much help either. I almost broke the crown trying to pull it out till I accidentally screwed the crown counter clockwise and it popped out.
