This charger works great with my HP laptop. I’m not sure what the smart blue tip is about, but it charges my unit just fine. The cord is plenty long. i actually with I could buy one that is shorter since my chair is right next to an electrical outlet leaving a lot of cord on the floor.

Lost the cord that originally came with laptop and this cord works just the same. Completely compatible and charges same too. So if you need a replacement this is good quality!
