I must admit that I’d been fiending for a pocket watch for quite some time before settling on this particular model. Having lived with it as my daily timepiece for about a month now, I still love it. I will look for any excuse to whip this watch out and check the time. It has held up well, without any scratches or signs of wear so far. The face is large and easy to read, and the overall size fits nicely in the palm of a hand.
This is no battery-powered pretender; this watch wants to become part of your daily routine. You will wind it every morning before breakfast, or perhaps on the elevator up to your office. It’s best to wind it with the face open so that you can watch the spring reach its limits — a visual cue to stop your over-enthusiastic fingers before you hit the bump-stop on the mechanism.
I have been monitoring this watch’s performance against the digital wall clock in my bedroom, and it gains or loses about a second every few days depending on winding trends or whether I’ve caught the adjustment crown on the edge of a pocket and stopped the hands, which has happened to me twice already.
This seems to be a great watch for the money. If you want a daily mechanical pocket watch that won’t break the bank and isn’t covered in unnecessary frills, this is your pick.

When I bought this watch I didn’t expect it to be too great, but when I received it, I instantly loved it. It has a nice finish, kind of shiny, seems pretty durable, has a nice skeleton inside, I enjoy watching the mechanism tick on the inside of it, once I set the time and wound it about 37 times, it kept time for about 24 hours, and would of lasted even longer had I not wound it again. All in all, it is a great watch, looks very nice, has a nice chain, and is definitely worth $76, especially since it cost $115 on the Charles Hubert website.

You paid for what you get for!
The seller is great, the amazon.com is great, but the watch has only the box as good/cool stuff.
The watch broke after a few days of use.
And the golden roof disappeared in the first cleaning.

This pocket watch is no doubt beautiful. The plating will eventually wear off, as it is not solid gold, so be aware of that. You will have to re-plate it eventually. The watch is highly readable, and it is a pleasure to watch the little gears and parts move inside it. That being said, it is a cheap Chinese movement, and as such lacks consistent accuracy. It gains about 45 secs a day, and after two or three days the inaccuracy is highly noticeable. You shouldn’t rely on this watch as a daily watch, because you’ll have to reset it nearly every morning. If you’re ok with that, then it’s fine for time-keeping. It is however, a gorgeous piece to show off, and for the cheaper price, a good value. The construction is good quality overall, and it’s a pretty watch for what it is. All that being said, an older antique pocket watch from the 1800’s is not too much more expensive (unless you get ones in gold) and are easily found if you have a local antique shop or on eBay. They are really worth the extra cash because their accuracy and style are much higher quality. They are not skeletonized however, so seeing the movement usually requires taking off the back. Modern pocket watches like this one are a great compromise in price, look, style, and for show, and it’s easy to watch the gears and the balance wheel. Charles-Hubert is definitely the best quality company for cheap mechanical pocket watches, but be aware of the accuracy issues. I do recommend it!

The watch is exactly, no better, than I had hoped. The only drawback for me was the latch to close the watch didn’t feel too secure. It comes with an admonission to avoid closing the watch without depressing the unlock first. I suspect that without this care the locking mechanism could fail eventually.

I had a different model Charles-Hubert watch. It was 2 minutes fast within 24 hours.
It also stopped working 3 weeks after being wound to full. I have another watch with the same movement and it’s been running for 5 years, even being wound to full.
This watch was it’s replacement.
Today is Thursday, I got it Saturday, and set it.
It’s spot on the money, to the second.
However, the clasp to hold the lid shut isn’t working.
I’m not sending it back.
I’ve had 6 pocket watches in 20 years.
This is the only one that went more than 3 days keeping the correct time.

I got this watch mostly because I thought it looked good. The reviews said it was a very good watch. I thought that it being a brand new one it would keep good time. IT DID NOT! It was five minutes off within 4 hours of being reset. I wound it properly. I even left it on a table, thinking that might help it keep correct time. IT DID NOT! I tried for a week, only to get the same result. Incorrect time in a matter of hours. If you want something nice to look at, go for it. If you want to tell time correctly, forget it.
