We decided to put our house on the market and while our cook top worked fine it was… ugly and stained. In fact it was originally installed in 1993. Anyway I went to Lowes and HD to buy a replacement unfortunately it would take a few weeks for it to be delivered. I was prepared to spend up to $1k but needed something in less than a week. I ordered this with a lot of doubts but I am very happy with it.
I was able to use it for the past few weeks and it looks great, generates a ton of BTU and is easy to clean.
Some people have complained about how to start the burners… I don’t think this is an issue at all and it is easy to use and great for people that like to cook. You don’t need to spend a lot more to get a great cook top.

The stove was simple to install, runs great on propane with the included LP conversion kit. Cooks food fast and heats pans evenly. The variety in burners is great for all my cooking needs.
it’s a little annoying to clean, removing and replacing all the burners is a bit of a chore, and cloth wipes keep getting caught on what I assume is the thermocouple sticking up besides all the burners. You have to use a very clean cloth and glass cleaner for a final pass or you will always have smudges.
The finish though, is not very durable. the stainless steel surfaces scratch fairly easily and will likely not look nice and new for very long. Probably worth looking into a high temp clear coat for it if you want the finish to last.
All in all I’m very happy with the overall cooking performance which is what I wanted more than anything, but I feel there is room for improvement in design and durability.

I thought this was a great price for this cooktop & it looked high end at a budget price, however, once it was installed, first I found one of the grates had a crack, a small one, but still, it’s brand new and shouldn’t be that way.
The BIGGER issue is the center burner will not stay lit once you release the knob.
I contacted Amazon support & they were as helpful as possible, but said I had to talk to the manufacturer directly. I asked for a phone call, as opposed to emails so any questions could be addressed at one time and taken care of quickly. Empava did eventually contact me, by email, not by phone. After a few days of back & forth emails (and asking for a phone call several times and NOT getting one)it was determined by Empava that I have a bad thermocouple, and they are willing to send me one for free…IF…I can provide pictures & proof of purchase, which every screen shot of my order, order number etc., I’ve sent, is not good enough to even get them to send me the broker part, that we really don’t know for sure is the issue. I don’t quite understand…Amazon contacted them directly HOWEVER…even if I ever do get them to send me the supposed broken part, I have to hire a local technician to install it. So now, I paid to have it installed, it doesn’t work properly, its damaged, AND I have to PAY to get it fixed and working??? This is a BRAND-NEW cooktop! Seriously? So, I should have just bit the bullet and gone to Best Buy or Home Depot and spent the higher amount, at least I know I’d get a cooktop that is actually working properly. Oh…and after mentioning the cracked grate several times, it was never addressed either.
I HIGHLY recommend you do NOT purchase this cooktop or any other Empava appliance!

This unit was defective and i did not know when i received. i ordered the unit in advance (Feb. 8) and after i finish installing (Apr 20), find out 3 of the burners wont work. my return window already passed and i contacted manufacture for warranty. they want me to send them a video and explanation regards to the issue. now they do not want to honor the warranty, but they are ready to sell me igniters $20 each. the igniters in the unit works fine, because i can see them spark at the each burner. i’m not a expert, but looks like cause of the issue is faulty valves, not getting enough gas to lit the burner.
Now i reading through online about this product line and lots of people getting same issue. 2 or 3 burners won’t work. sometimes they stay lit when you holding the igniter, but soon as you let it go, flame goes shut. unit looks fine and igniter woks odd compared to others rangers. so please be aware of this product since manufacture wont stay behind the product. in amazon site, it shows 2 years limited warranty, now i have issues after 2 months and they do not cover.
Update 05/15/2020 :
After contacting Amazon, sent me a replacement unit. Set up and had the same issue.
Then I found out the reason what makes the 3 burners does not work. The black burner tops can be placed in different ways. The middle one need to have a small one in the center and circle one on the outside. After that unit works perfectly fine. So just follow the picture in the Amazon site and manual is useless since drawings were not clear. I have removed the one star but keep 4 star for bad design of the black tops ( should be unique to each burner) and tech support try to sell me igniters without even a troubleshooting.
As far as the unit works fine and I will update anything else comes up. So again follow the picture on Amazon site.

The stove arrived fully assembled but was missing one burner cap – no big deal, I assumed Empava would make good and timely ship out a replacement for the missing part.
As required, I hired a professional installer to install the stove and do the needed conversion to propane.
Once the stove was installed we discovered that the flames for the burners needed adjustment. The installer tells me this is usually the case.
The problem we discovered is that the adjustment screws are not accessible without uninstalling and disassembling the stove. And once it is uninstalled and disassembled, we would have to reinstall and reassemble the burners to do the adjustment, and then uninstall, disassemble and reassemble again to add back the glass cooktop. The installer assured me that this is not normal or necessary on other gas stoves.
Additionally, he pointed out that the valve stems (that the knobs fit not) were misaligned in the glass openings for them, a problem no amount of disassembly or reassembly would solve. Furthermore, we discovered the stove itself had no serial number, which again suggested that the stove was carelessly made and/or a second, and possibly a returned item they decided to sell again as new.
Numerous communications asking how to do the burner adjustment were met with surprise that I would even want to. But the flames on the stove I received do not properly calibrate: the only way to get a low flame is to turn the stove almost off, which is the reverse of how the burners are supposed to work.
In light of the various issues, I asked that the stove be replaced, preferably with a stainless model, which I thought might not have the same accessibility problems caused by the glass top. Customer service never responded to this query, nor did they offer to supply the missing burner cap. Mostly the agent kept reiterating that if I want to adjust the burners I have to take apart the stove, at the same time making it seem like my request to adjust the burners so they would function correctly was unusual.
After a lot of back and forth, Empava offered that I could return the stove for refund since I was in the 30 day return period. So that is what I have decided to do, and I will be purchasing a new stove from a different supplier.
Meanwhile, I am out over $300 for the installation of Empava’s defective stove. They did not respond at all to my complaint that the stove I received was a) incomplete and b) defective and c) I was out over $300 on installation of their defective product, other than to tell me I could return it. According to them, that is my problem, they will not reimburse the installation costs which I will have to again pay when I get another stove.
Since one is required to hire a professional installer to do the conversion and installation, a refund for the product only is not adequate in this case.
I asked Amazon customer service if they could intervene and was told no, Empava is a 3rd party seller.
I never raised the issue with Empava but I also noticed that the knobs are poorly made. There is a teeny piece that fits inside the handle to hold it against the valve stem. On one of the knobs on my stove, that piece kept coming out when the knob was removed. Given that this problem cropped up with presumably brand new knobs, once can anticipate the knobs will likely need frequent replacement with use.
My olde Sears-Kenmore gas stove has lasted over 30 years without issue. Regrettably, I broke one valve stem and have learned that replacement parts are n longer available – I figured that a 30 years newer cooktop would be even better than my old one and decided it was time to replace it. Empava promised a high quality product and I can say absolutely that my old cooktop is much much better in terms of both design and function.
The upshot – beware of buying the tempered glass stove from Empava, and certainly not through Amazon – better off to buy a better made product locally with installation, by a vendor who will take responsibility if the product is defective, as was the stove I received from Empava. I don’t know if the same burner adjustment problem exists on the stainless steel models – if it does, buy elsewhere so as not to waste your money.
