I tried a product with the number of pots, and it worked beautifully when it worked. Unfortunately, it refused to work with a big Lifetime stockpot that I use every month to cook my dogs food and that is the main purpose for buying this cooktop, so returning it. Did the magnet test on the pot, Lifetime pots are made of stainless steel, but could never get it to work. This is my first time using induction, and I thought of the surface is incredibly slick, felt pots can easily slide out of position unless you put significant weight on them. I don’t know if all of them are the same

Our first unit came, immediately started buzzing, started smoking and tripped circuits, showing well in excess of the 1800 watts rated. We promptly returned for a refund. This unit fits our space on our boat the best of any 2 burner induction cooktop. So after waiting about 3 weeks we decided to give it another try. We’ve only cooked with it a few times, but have tested out all functions with a couple pots of water on the burners. This second unit is much quieter and runs as it should. Burners automatically increase or decrease wattage as you change the settings to maintain a maximum of 1800 watts. In actuality, we found maximum watts to be roughly 100-200 watts less than manufacturers rating. This was based on our Victron Cerbo DX display. We’ll keep using it on our sailboat and see how it performs. If our rating changes up or down, we’ll update this review. For now – we’ll recommend it.

Order the stove top for our little cabin in the wood. Opened the box just over a month after the purchase and went to install the legs for the unit to sit on our countertop. There are interior threads the feet screw into. As I went to install the last leg the interior thread pushed through which did not allow the let to install. Really no way to fix. I contacted AMAZON as the return time had expired by 5 days. Amazon advised me to contact Empava. I contacted them and was told to send an email with pictures of the issue, and they would take care of it. I sent the picture and emailed them with the issue and was told to contact Amazon. I advised them that was already done with not results. The next email from EMPAVA I was shown how to install the legs? REALLY?? I have made several calls and left messages as they are supposed to return the calls. I have had no luck. Very poor customer service on a defective issue, with a very short window for returns.

I’ve ordered and returned 3 other brands of these drop-in 110V induction double cooktops, all virtually identical. Except for this one, they’ve all tested 1,000 watts max for the left burner and about 1,500 watts total with both burners on. This one at least tested 1,400 watts for the left burner and very close to 1,800 watts with both burners. It’s still less than advertised, but at least it’s closer to specification. I haven’t decided if I want to keep ordering/testing/likely returning other brands to see if ANY of them perform as advertised or just keep this one.

After approx 3 days of use: Right burner works fine. Left burner will not shut off, continuous beeping, no other functions work, error code 3, Turned power off for 30 minutes and restarted per instructions. No resolution and problem continued. Contacted Empava customer support via, email, and online chat with some difficulties. After some back and forth Empava agreed to send me a replacement unit, and if it does arrive the 4 stars are for good customer service. Am awaiting to see if replacement arrives, and if replacement has any issues. Hoping for the best. Edit: replacement arrived within a week and is working very well. Initial difficulty overcome by some pretty great customer service and willingness to make things right!

I love this new cooktop! It gives you heat at a moments notice, and when your are finished cooking turns off quick. There is even a timer you can put on, which turns the cooktop off when it’s finished. Very well made and beautiful! Looks so updated and European.

Not super quick bringing a pot of water to boil, but once it’s boiling, it maintains heat really well. Not a fan of the “power sharing” which distributes power when both burners are in use. But it’s fine for most applications (except for bringing a big pot of water to boil). You can’t beat the easy cleaning, the reduction in extra heat in the kitchen and overall sleekness that comes with induction.
