Stovetop looks great and cooks good.

Bought this to replace our GE Profile. (my wife cracked the glass twice). not a lot to choose from or not available. I seen this and liked the design (large burners in back, small in front) wasn’t sure about the controls in front. so far I like it as I do most of the cooking. I’m an electrician so install was pretty easy. Just wish the flex was about 10″ longer. The big burner is BIG. I’m getting use to it and like it much better the GE. it’s easy to see the knob being silver, a whole lot easier to clean and looks great. I got a pretty good deal on it and time will tell. Frigidaire has done me good on my other appliances.

I really like this stove top. It works well and it was quite simple to install. It’s a great value!

The cooktop was easy to install and worked well for about a year and a half.
Then one day, as we turned on the quick burner know, heard some sparks below the switch, could see sparks thru the translucent glass. I immediately turned the knob off. I soon started smelling a burning smell from around that knob. I let is rest for sometime, thinking it might be some fluke and then retried some time later. Same observation.I then taped up the switch so no one would turn it on by mistake. I learnt from Frigidaire that the cooktop was out of warranty so they would not be able to help unless I paid $300+ to get it fixed. I have home appliance warranty. They sent a technician, who came in twice but each time, the part ordered would not work. They gave up and finally the warranty company gave up. I now have a choice of fixing for $300 thru Frigidaire or buy a new one. I am not happy with this outcome.

First the good: Cooktop looks nice and heats up fast. Knobs come off easily for cleaning and rubber gaskets around knobs are secure to prevent liquid from running inside. Knobs on the side are a good location and are not in the way when cooking. Markings for the heating elements are simple and clean. I picked this cooktop over a similar Whirlpool (everything else in the kitchen is Whirlpool) because the Whirlpool has printing on most of the unit with “openings” for each element. I was concerned that this printing would get scratched easily and look bad over time. If you are having this professionally installed, I would give this 5 stars.
Now the bad if you are installing this yourself: It is literally 3 wire connections (after tripping the breaker) and 6 screws to install this, but be prepared for a trip to the local hardware store. The metal conduit doesn’t come with a connector to secure it to the junction box. Old unit had a snap in fitting that was part of the metal and couldn’t be reused. The part I needed was only a $1 at Big Orange so how hard would it be to include one or the snap in fitting? Electrical connections are pretty standard, so can’t understand why this wasn’t included. Unit just sits in the opening and there are metal tabs that support it and metal brackets to keep it from moving. The brackets are rather flimsy and the unit can slide a bit on the smooth counter top. The screws supplied were too small to secure the bracket to the bottom of the unit and stripped out (there were 2 types of screws included, 2 sheet metal screws and 4 wood screws). I had to scavenge the screws from the old unit to get the brackets tight. Instructions say to not seal or glue the unit down, but there is a definite gap under the edge. What moron thought this would be a good idea? They never clean their counter tops with soap and water? My unit sits over cabinet drawers and I don’t want to open a drawer and find the contents wet and moldy. The old cooktop came with one sided foam tape that was stuck to the counter top, and sealed out water, cushioned the glass top, and kept the cooktop from sliding around. Again, a nickel and dime item that should be included. Now I’m searching to foam tape that can handle the heat.
Finally, this was shipped USPS and for some reason they wouldn’t deliver it to my door and had to go pick it up at the post office. I’m not sure why something so big and heavy would be shipped USPS. Also the box is clearly labeled with UP arrows, but the address/shipping label was on the bottom so it bounced across the country up side down. The box was a bit torn up, but everything appears to be ok.

First one never even made it to our house but was damaged in transit apparently so badly that UPS just turned it around and sent it back. (BTW, hate that Amazon cancels the oder in this situation and you have to wait on refund then order it again.) Anyway, shipping packaging on the second one was woefully inadequate and arrived with carton flaps open top and bottom and wires hanging out. That said, the product was luckily in brand new condition. My only complaint about the product was having to scrape off three large tables on the top glass plate – Tip: use a hairdryer and plastic scraper.
Easy to install and heats up really fast, great to use – so still gets 5*

I was a bit concerned when the cooktop was delayed a few days in arriving, but once it arrived, I was delighted. It fit the previous Frigidaire cooktop space perfectly, was easily installed and works wonderfully. The quick boil is awesome, and cleaning up (with the included trial bottle of cooktop cleaner) so far is a breeze. The metal strip along the front looks great. A great replacement cooktop at a very affordable price!

I was able to install this cook top myself in under 2 hours with the removal of my old cooktop taking the majority of my time. It works great, I love the controls on the right side versus in the middle like some others and it seems to work very well so far!
The package did come damaged and I was concerned I’d be opening a broken cooktop like some of the other reviews but it was in great shape with no blemishes or cracks. The cooktop comes prewired with the electrical conduit pre-attached and all it took was installing the mounting brackets into the countertop, clear caulk and connecting the wires in my existing junction box with wire nuts to get this installed.
Overall the dimensions and cooktop are as described and at the time I purchased this, it was about $100 cheaper than Home Depot.
I should also note the delivery came about 4 days earlier than originally expected which was also great as big box stores don’t always have these on the shelves (mine didn’t).
All in all, if you’re looking for a glass electric cooktop for under $1k I would suggest this one 9/10.
What I love:
Controls on the right
Quick delivery
Different pan sizes for cooking
Ease of use and size
Overall appearance
Ease of installation
