My Seiko and I am not disappointed. I have used this watch a few times a week for the past 6 months and it is holding up nicely. Looks great with nato straps as well. For the money, this watch fits the bill!

There’s genuinely nothing I dislike about this watch, it is very good looking. I did my research, as should everyone before purchasing a watch, and knew what I was getting before I ordered it. I have heard many people warn you that it will lose about 10-15 seconds every day… that’s not entirely correct. It’s been about a week now and it has only lost 13 seconds. Still incredibly accurate for a watch at this price point. If you’re worried about the crystal, don’t be, the hardlex Seiko uses is a very good crystal and frankly it is better when it comes to impact. It will likely crack on impact rather than shatter like a sapphire. It is very easy to read at night especially with the lumiBrite. The only thing you should be wary of when buying this watch, is your wrist size. It is a fair amount bigger than other watches I have but as you can see it sits nicely on my 6.5-7” wrist. I will say, if you like a watch GET IT! That is the whole point. If you don’t care for a bigger watch then you’ll absolutely love this. I really don’t think this could be any better for under $500 other than adding a sapphire crystal or giving it an oyster clasp. There no room for complaints on this timepiece. I do hope they add those features in the future and just bump the price a little higher if that’s the issue.

Es un reloj económico, pero con mucha calidad de construcción y acabados, lo uso todo el día y no tengo ningún problema, lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Where do I start? I guess I’ll start with seeing that this was on sale. I’ve always wanted a GMT Automatic and since most offerings are out of my price range, I decided to treat myself. I was not disappointed at all. It really is beautiful, everything from the watch to the bracelet is going to get looks. Speaking of, I actually like the GMT ring: it’s very easy to grab hold of and turn and looks great. There are also additional 24 hour markings on the dial for the 3rd time zone functionality.
Additionally, even though the watch face is 42mm, the watch wears like a smaller one due to its lug to lug size of 46mm. I was kind of worried because I was used to a 38mm but that worry evaporated as soon as I sized the bracelet for my wrist. The Jubilee style bracelet is very comfortable and the watch is not too heavy either. Definitely a watch I could see myself wearing all day.
Downsides? For me, it’s that the crystal is a Hardlex mineral glass instead of Sapphire. I don’t know about it’s long term durability so hopefully it will be okay. Also, even though it has an exhibition case back, the movement just isn’t stylish enough in my opinion. But that feels like nitpicking due to the price point. It’s a beautiful blue Seiko GMT Automatic and it looks like a $1000 watch. If you’re on the fence, get it.
Edit: If you’re like me and worried about the Hardlex crystal, there are aftermarket Sapphire crystals that you can buy. I got one from CrystalTimes for about $40 as a spare in case the crystal gets too dinged up.

Love this watch. Hefty, solid feel. Gains only between 3 and 5 seconds a day. Highly legible dial.
The cyclops eye above the date is a main reason I bought it. I don’t know why more watches don’t have this feature. Rolex had this right decades ago. Many people need this feature.
The bracelet is also excellent. Solid links and *four* microadjustment settings (simple tool needed). The “jubilee” design is very comfortable and attractive.
I bought it on Amazon for about $342 (it’s even less these days). List is $475. Don’t pay list price. 🤗

The OG of the new affordable GMTs w/ 4R34 (NH34) movements, now coming online.
Random observations:
1. If the Amazon vendor is not a Seiko A.D. (some are) you’ll likely get a blank unstamped warranty card, which means not covered by Seiko USA’s 3-yr warranty. I’ve never found this to be a problem as the many Seiko I’ve owned have held up essentially forever.
If you’re fine paying full retail, might as well buy from an A.D. seller on Amazon.
2. Interestingly, no more instruction booklet provided. In the unlikely event you need help using your watch, it’s downloadable from the Seiko USA support page. The manual states “The telephone time signal service is helpful for setting the seconds hand exactly.” How retro.
3. The blue one’s dial’s “sunburst” is subtle & not as pronounced as with, say, a blue Orient Ray II.
4. The back-end of the seconds hand (with the lollipop lume dot) is painted black, a nice touch.
5. It’s not a dive watch! It’s a travel watch. “10 Bar” (100m), so a dunking or splash is fine, but no snorkeling or extended swimming.
6. Supplied “jubilee-style” bracelet is fine (solid end links, nice enough finish & clasp) but unless you’re Popeye, you’ll need to resize it, and it uses pins/collars. I’m wearing it on a NATO.
7. Because of the slightly thicker movement and exhibition caseback, if on a NATO will wear a bit higher on the wrist, compared to say the SKX you’re upgrading from.
8. Buttery-smooth manual winding. No gritty feel at all.
9. Spec’d at +45/-35s/day, mine’s doing considerably better. YMMV.
10. An overall great value in a megabrand GMT!

I was kind of skeptical when purchasing this watch, as I never owned an SKX, and a GMT for under $500 seemed too good to be true. Boy was I wrong, this watch has exceeded every one of my expectations and is a phenomenal value for money. I know Seiko can often be a hit or a miss when it comes to bezel and chapter ring alignment, bit this one was perfect. The accuracy is also well within Seiko’s advertised standards for this movement. Mine is roughly 12 to 14 seconds fast per day, which is more than acceptable for me. The bracelet was ok, but I personally prefer to wear this on straps. It looks especially good on blue and white natos.

I bought this watch because the image said “made in japan”. WHen I opened the box it is just the other version of Seiko…some people said…it is made in china under seiko supervision which I don’t believe it
