UPDATE: HAD TO RETURN IT, EVEN THOUGH I REALLY LIKE IT, IT WOULD LOOSE ABOUT 4-5 MINUTES EVERY HOUR AND IT HELD NO PWER RESERVE, ONCE IDLE IT WOULD STOP AFTER ABOUT 45 MINUTES. GUESS I JUST GOT A LEMON 🙁
READ AND WATCHED A LOT OF REVIEWS ONLINE AND YOUTUBE, PICS REALLY DON’T DO IT JUSTICE, I WOULD HAVE GIVEN IT A 5 STAR RATING EXCEPT THE RED HOUR MARKER DOESN’T EXACTLY ALIGN WITH THE 24- HOUR MARKERS FOR THE SND TIME ZONE, THAT SAID WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FOR A GMT FOR LESS THAN 300, STILL A VERY NICE WATCH AND THE JAPANESE 4R34 MOVEMENT IS A WORKHORSE, I HAVE OTHER SEIKOS INCLUDING A SEIKO ORANGE MONSTER. IT WILL MAKE A NICE ADDITON TO MY GROWING EPSON COLLECTION.

I already had the Blueberry Seiko SSK003, which is such a fantastic watch and loved the yellow dialled model when released as a USA only model. I bought one through Amazon which arrived soon after in the UK. The yellow SSK017 is a stunner, with a beautiful dial and a contrasting red GMT hand. For me the bezel insert is the best surprise as the grey in the lower half is far more noticeable in real life and looks incredible. In summary the Seiko SSK series GMT’s are such a lot of watch for the money, with the yellow one being a great option if you want a bright Summer timepiece.

Big Seiko fan. Own about 10 of the Presage and Prospex models. For my first Seiko 5 I went for the yellow dial model that was a returned item in like new condition. The watch arrived fast, cosmetics and accuracy were perfect however it was already sized and had no spare links. It was slightly too small. The GMT hand according to Seiko tech support wasn’t working either. I later learned that it was likely that it was working correctly however because Amazon ships these watches with no manual I could not read about the operation and the kind lady at Seiko may not have understood either. I returned for exact same item except the second one is new unopened and immediately brought to my jeweler to test accuracy and this second one is running 19 seconds fast. Which surprisingly is within published spec of plus 45 and minus 30 per day. I’m going to keep testing and live with it for a week and see if it improves. As for the design and beauty of this Gmt model it is the one to get in the GMT version because it has the hardlex crystal actually on the bezel and a raised angled main crystal design that is much better in wrist presence than the non GMT version. I’ve tried both in the store and the non GMT version has no discernible beauty and is just uninteresting period. I also found the black/gray dial gmt version with the colored inner bezel to be lifeless too however the blue version was interesting. It appears the yellow gmt reflects the light highlighting the beauty of the watch the best. I would like to see Seiko make one with a white face too.

Didn’t stand to put the metal bracelet it came with on my wrist, it feels very cheap. Replaced with other options. Power reserve is thumbs down. It’s dial is mere pleasure to look at. Took it on a trip for beach and mountain, it was stunning everywhere.

I love this bright Yellow Dial SEIKO SSK017J1. Bought from Amazon US. My Favorite Automatic watch. Beautiful sports edition of Seiko automatic watch.

This watch has really good reviews. I was skeptical due to the price point, as it’s far from being a Rolex or Tissot. But let me tell ya, I fell in love with this watch, from the way it looks, to the quality of materials used. The bracelet sits comfortably in my wrist, it doesn’t feel heavy at the end of the day. I highly recommend it.

BEAUTIFUL watch and even prettier on a red/black elastic band. So far it keeps good time too.

Seiko did it again with the beautiful design, color and dimensions. I’ve been waiting for this watch to become available here in Amazon.sa and finally I got one.

The first watch I ever purchased was a Seiko Quartz Diver in 1976. It was my only watch until the early 90’s. Due to a crappy jeweler, it leaked, and the insides corroded. I have always loved Seiko’s and now have about six. I replaced my Divers Quartz with an automatic last year. When I saw this yellow-dialed version SSK, I had to have it. It being a GMT just made it all the better. The bracelet is a little jingly, but it’s a solid watch. Good delivery service from the supplier, and everything was packed well.

A similar model I purchased from my local watch dealer was $60 more expensive but came with much more paperwork including warranty cards. This watch is not available in Canada from dealers so I had to order it online, big plus that it was $60 cheaper than buying similar Seiko watches locally but the orange Seiko GMT I got in my city came with a booklet and warranty info in the box. I don’t think I got a fake but I don’t think I can put this watch in for warranty claims
