This thing works just like the cord that came with the computer. It charges my HP laptop fast. The block doesn’t get super hot either. And the charge it gives to my android phone is just amazing. I’ve seen it charge my phone to 50% in just minutes. It’s not the official HP charger, but it works just like it. And at such a wonderful cost.

Edit: Seller was responsive and sent me a replacement no questions asked. Sometimes hardware is faulty on a one-off basis, and that might have happened to me. Part of my frustration was with Amazon’s strange warranty claim policy. That has nothing to do with this particular item. The seller gets 5 stars for service, but I am not certain about the actual product yet. You should check other reviews and use discretion before you make this purchase. Original review with spelling fixes is below:
I’ve had this charger for about 5 months and it is already falling apart. I thought it would be covered by standard US consumer warranty. Apparently you can’t make a warranty claim outside the return window on Amazon? What a nightmare.
The shielding is peeling off and there are exposed wires. The charger doesn’t work anymore unless you position it ‘just right’, and then it only works for a few minutes. Probably because it’s so touchy.
I didn’t use it heavily but any means. This charger mostly sits in my bag because I have plugs at home and at the office. The chord comes with a velcro strip that I use that to tie it about as tight as you see in this image. It’s much less tight than it is in the marketing images. I don’t think a reasonable person would say I abused this charger.
It’s just bad. It’s a waste of money and wastefully uses plastics and metals for a product that doesn’t last 6 months. Don’t buy this.

First off, be aware that this is NOT an HP OEM power supply, but a third-party supply. It looks like it was probably made in the same factory as the HP supplies, though, and is absolutely identical in every to my original supply, except for the cord which has a fabric/braided type sheathing and it doesn’t have an HP logo. It also looks basically the same as other third-party supplies you can find on Amazon.
I chose it because the braided cord sheathing looked like it might be more flexible that the standard smooth cords. (The picture also showed it nicely wrapped up on the unit, which made me think it was more flexible than it is.) This turned out to be not true and it is quite stiff and is essentially impossible to wrap the way it is pictured by hand. Furthermore, the cord holder clip does not hold on to the cord at all (the opening is too small and flexible) and it is completely useless for keep the cord from unravelling. So that was a big disappointment, and why I removed a star. (Of course, it’s a pretty simple matter to get a velcro tie or similar to solve that problem, but it’s nice to have things work properly out of the box.)
That said, it connects firmly to my my ZBook 15 G6 Workstation charges it just fine. It does not seem to overheat, and everything looks to be working great. So, it’s performing as expected. These type of power supplies come in 150W and 200W versions, and my computer clearly states that it needs 200W, so I happy that it appears to provide the rated power. It is currently also selling for slightly less (maybe $10, ignoring “sales”). It also worked fine with my son’s HP Pavilion gaming computer (which requires only 150W).
Overall, I am happy enough with it, but would not get it again. I’d instead try one with a different cord and clip in hopes to find one that has a working cord management clip and possibly more flexible cord. I was hoping to have something a bit less unwieldy to pack up for travel, and find myself very disappointed with this one. For general use, though, it’s does the job.
